| If you've listened to any Internet marketers in the last few years, you've probably heard many of them use the term article marketing. Some even like to beat it like a dead horse, with good reason. When done the right way, online article marketing will have a significant impact on the traffic that is delivered to your site. The problem, however, is that the majority of online marketers do not perform online article marketing the correct way. To succeed, you should make sure your article marketing efforts are done on an ongoing basis. It is not a one shot deal where you blast one article to thousands of directories and then forget about it. So what then, is the best way to go about online article marketing? Assuming you have a good site that regularly updates its content, you should have a steady stream of content for your site. Use this content to generate articles over time, and submit them to article directories on an ongoing basis by using the steps below. Rewrite or reword the article. This is very important. If you submit the same content as your site verbatim, it will not rank well in the search engine and your efforts will be wasted. If your goal is to submit your article to more than one place, it is a good idea to create some article variations. This is the part that requires a lot of work, and using software that automatically "spins" different versions of your article could save you a lot of time (see below for more). Submit to the most popular directories. Ezinearticles and GoArticles are two of the most popular ones. More submissions is not necessarily better, since a lot of article sites get insufficient traffic and are not worth considering. Focus your efforts on maybe a dozen of the top article directories and that should be sufficient. Provide a link to your site in the author biography box. This link back to your site is the main reason you are submitting articles. Don't just link to your main site but try to deep link to specific pages on your site as well. With the explosion in popularity for online articles, certain powerful article marketing resources have come out that allow you to spin and submit your articles quickly. Use these tools to maximize the returns from your efforts. Most other marketers do use automation tools for their marketing, so you should too if you want to be able to compete. |
